He also made it his mission to make sure the entire male population of Waycross knew I was off limits. One time he caught Steven Shaw and I parked by the lake... The shocked look on that boy's face when my daddy pulled him out of the car by his ear was priceless. He threw Steven in handcuffs and hauled him into the county lockup. Rumor spread all over town, and that was the last date I ever had.
I knew the minute I saw your mom that she was the one for me. My heart raced and my hands shook. She scorched my soul with our first kiss, and I knew I was in trouble.
I sat through church never actually hearing a word of the sermon. My mind was strictly on Alex. My thoughts were anything but godly today. If I were being judged for the last hour, I would be on a one-way bullet train to hell.
My Review:
Blue Ribbon Summer was a sweet first love novella that felt more YA than NA until the final chapter, although there were some steamy scenes. The story was quick and easy to follow with hits of humor among the teenage drama, angst, and experimentation.

Kelly Collins writes with the intention of keeping the love alive.
Always a romantic, she is inspired by real time events mixed with a dose of fiction. She encourages her readers to reach the happily ever after but bask in the afterglow of the perfectly imperfect love.
Kelly lives in Colorado with her husband of twenty-five years. She loves hockey, shiny objects and has a new found appreciation for green smoothies.
