Synopsis:
Sometimes the best things in life come from the unexpected. So if you lower your expectations, then you’ll never be disappointed. Sound cheesy? It is, but it's also true. Clichés come from a grain of truth…like a man with a Porsche is compensating for something, or once a cheater always a cheater—you get the idea. Sorry, I digress. I'm supposed to be telling you what this book is about.

I'm Megan Walker, a lawyer at one of the hottest boutique law firms in Atlanta. I'm on the fast track to making partner and have my entire life planned out...or I did.
We all know how that goes, right? Best laid plans and all that.

Life just threw me a couple curveballs, so I've set out to take things into my own hands. By throwing caution to the wind and getting out of my A-type personality bubble, I'm learning more about myself than I have in my twenty-seven years.

Sound like a chick flick, doesn't it?

It’s not.

Favorite Quotes:

“Don’t you hate it when your friends know you so well it makes being in denial hard?”

“It’s hard to hear the truth, like once it’s put out there it’s more true than if it’s just in your head.”

“There is rampant flatulence during the stretching.  This causes me to giggle.  It’s hard not to laugh when grown ass women are farting like fraternity boys.”

“I am habitually early, which is really annoying if anyone is five minutes late because I’ve already been there for fifteen minutes.”

“First of all, the people who make adult onesies should be shot.  Second, the people who wear onesies should be forced to hang out with each other and not make normal people see that s**.  Third, my mom is insane.  No one told me she bought new boobs.”

“The expression on his face is filled with wonder and love and lust and I can’t decide which one I like better.”

My Review:

I have a new favorite author – I know I say this often – I am a ho like that, but does it make me a ho if I always mean it?  Soon after beginning this book - I logged into Goodreads and quickly added every one of her books to my TBR. I want to read every book, story, and memo this talented woman has ever put to paper. Sunshine and Whiskey is an uproariously funny and snarky little tale that was exactly what I was needing.  It took me forever to finish as I frequently had to stop to catch my breath and wipe the tears of mirth from my eyes.  I laughed so hard and it woke my husband, so then he demanded to read it too.  I smiled, chuckled, chortled, snorted, giggled, and laughed aloud during the majority of this delightfully humorous and wickedly entertaining tale.  The clever banter was fresh and so crisp it crackled.  I loved these smart and witty characters and how they used insults and threats as endearments.  It was hard to narrow down my favorite quotes, as frequent use f-bombs would never get past the censors.  So if you aren’t comfortable with liberal use of that type of language, well – you just need to get over yourself so you can enjoy this book.   I will never think of fish tacos, ham sandwiches, leggings, yoga, red boots, or hot dog buns in the same way – ever.
