Book Blitz: Mr. Right & Mr. Wrong - Grigory Ryzhakov

Mr Right and Mr Wrong by Grigory Ryzhakov
Publication date: September 1st 2013
Genres: Adult, Comedy, Romance

Synopsis:
Having two admirers can be a real headache, especially when a tough agronomy course at Imperial College comes on top of that, not forgetting a part-time job at a florist’s and a mother desperate to marry you off.

Have I mentioned a stalker who keeps sending roses, and a Professor who thinks it’s fine to bury you under an extra pile of academic papers? Arrrgh!

Blake may be cute and charming, but Terrence is no less attractive in his business suits. What is a poor girl to do? Dating both of them is the right thing if you listen to Trish and that’s exactly the way Kurt handles his men.

Party after party, you have to deal with these bouts of guilt mixed with hangovers while mulling over the same dilemma over and over again – Blake or Terrence? Terrence or Blake?
Think, Chloe, think!

Mr Right & Mr Wrong is a wonderfully warm and witty yet thoughtful romantic comedy, from which you will not only pick up tips on the intricacies of London dating, but also discover a few moral and ethical aspects of plant neurobiology. Not so much chick lit as chic lit, offering sophistication alongside Chloe’s amusing complications.

Why Guys Should Read Chick Lit

What most guys don’t know, is that women’s fiction has a lot on offer. I don’t think I’m being presumptuous about the reading habits of XYs. My husband (who has earned his title of “beditor”) wouldn’t be caught dead reading *girl* stuff, unless I convince him otherwise. His biggest complaint is that “women sure do think a lot.” That’s right, we do. Live and learn, hombres.

What can guys learn from chick lit? Lots of cool stuff. Like women think it’s sexier for guys to fill up our cars with gas, than to play bongos on our ass. (See what we did there, it’s sing-songy and rhymes so guys can easily remember it.)

It’s not like men are from Jupiter, that’s why they’re stupider . . . (though if the planet fits!) This is just an open invitation to those he-men of the universe to take a ride on the chick slide. (That sounds dirty but maybe it will help attract their attention.)

There are so many smart, fun women writers, it would be great if guys would read it and weep. For extra relationship-bonus points, they can share their feelings in a bedtime book report! And they all lived happily ever after . . .

Synopsis:
Even after years of trauma therapy, Peyton still believes she’s broken.  She has little desire to date or show off her natural beauty, content simply to hang out with her best friends and run her pie shop in New Orleans.  But her world turns upside-down when a handsome architect and self-confessed player shows up in her shop and thinks she’s perfect, much more than the usual hook-up.  While Peyton does her best to resist his charms, believing she could never be enough for him, she can’t deny the obvious heat between them.

With Reed determined to have her, Peyton must decide whether to continue to hide behind her apron and baggy clothes or take a chance and share her scars with Reed, a man with a playboy reputation and scars of his own — a dark past he can’t possibly share with Peyton, not after learning the horrors she’s endured.  But if they can find a way to trust each other, and themselves, they just might be able to heal, to save each other, to live perfectly broken together.

A Steamy Paranormal Romance/Suspense

5 Stars Phenomenal Book!!! Top Pick Review
- Night Owl Reviews

A powerful woman, an extraordinary man, and a maniac who wants to destroy them. Fate has brought them together, but will it make them stronger or destroy them all in end?

Escape to a world where the impossible becomes possible and sparks ignite.

WHISPER CAPE is a town of secrets and Addison MacKenna soon becomes tangled in a web of them. Plagued with nightmares of her father's sudden and brutal death, Addie struggles with her anguish and refuses to believe his demise was accidental.

Fighting to shake off one of those devastating early morning nightmares, Addison finds it even harder to escape from the vision of a man lying on the side of the road--a man she may have just killed. When she frantically tries to locate him, he seemingly disappears, just the beginning of strange occurrences in her life. She also cannot ignore the weird sensations in her own body. Suddenly, the impossible seems possible, but is that a blessing or a curse?

Believing that her continual and worsening nightmares are both the key to her own new abilities and the clue to her father's death, Addie knows she will not rest until she has the answers she craves. As she strives to cope with her new remarkable talents, someone else learns of her abilities--a disgruntled maniacal psychopath with his own agenda that involves eliminating Addie. The only one who can protect her, instruct her in the use of her powers and teach her how to destroy the murderous monster is the same man who makes Addie's heart race and her blood heat with passion. The same man she'd left for dead.

Cael Sheridan may be arrogant and mysterious but he's also undeniably gorgeous. A member of a secret society, he is sworn to protect the woman he believes to be the daughter of his recently murdered mentor. In the process, he finds it impossible to resist her magnetic sensuality, complicating his efforts to shield and guide her as she learns to manage her newly acquired skills. At the same time, Addison has much to teach him about trust and commitment. Will fate win in the end? You be the judge.

Reflections (Whisper Cape book 2)
Publication Date: October 8, 2012

Book 2 in the Steamy Paranormal Romance/Suspense, Whisper Cape Series
What if you heard a voice whispering warnings while you coped with a frightening pregnancy?
Knowing the future has its advantages...or does it?
Can love survive the reflections and memories lost?
Welcome to Maia's world.
Gerry has loved Maia from the very first moment he laid eyes on her and now that she's pregnant with his child, he's over the moon with happiness. Likewise, Maia is overjoyed about having Gerry's baby, but when she starts seeing and hearing an old woman who warns Maia about the pregnancy, Maia starts to think she is losing her mind. But Maia's nightmare has only just begun...

A beautiful woman, the talented lead singer in an up and coming rock band, sets her sights on Gerry determined to rekindle an old flame. But murder befalls the sleepy town of Whisper Cape once again, creating suspicion and betrayal, and a love once considered invincible, begins to crumble and fall apart.

Excerpt from Reflections:

Gerry sat up and rubbed his shoulder. “Thanks, Addie.” He followed her gaze to the place where they had last seen Cael. It pained him, but finally he said, “Addie. Maybe he can’t get back.”

“You don’t think Finn shot him, do you? Cael is strong.”

Gerry shook his head but wasn’t sure if she noticed. “No.”

“Once he got him away from here, I’m sure he used his skills,” she said. “I mean, Cael could take Finn in a fight anytime.”

“He might not be able to come back.” Gerry brushed a strand of hair out of Addie’s face.

“What? What do you mean?” She stood and Gerry got up with her. He moaned a little from the pain and stood next to her.

“I don’t think he got shot. I’m not sure exactly what happened to Cael. When the bullet hit me, I lost balance. He might have received some of my …”

“What? No!” Her face paled and she fought to take in air.

“Breathe,” he said, stroking her back as Maia walked up and stood by her other side.

“I don’t understand.” Her voice was barely a whisper. She walked to where Cael had wrestled with Finn. “What sort of memory were you sending?”

“That’s the problem.” Gerry shook his head. He didn’t want to have to tell Addie that she might never see Cael again.

Publication Date: October 31, 2013

Description:
"Well, fate was cruel, wasn't it?"

Cael and Addison’s fate has taken an unexpected turn.

Gerry, Addie and Cael almost captured Careen’s murderer only to lose Cael in the battle—a battle that nearly cost him his life. But despite his survival, he faces a new challenge, thanks to Gerry's handiwork: will Cael remember Addie or is their love lost with him?

Addie’s family and friends think she should keep the relationship a secret from Cael so he isn't forced into feelings he can't remember. Just what she needs, more secrets and on top of everything else, someone stole the crystal. How is she supposed to get over the loss of her lover, a lover she'd barely had for only a few short months and deal with the secret of the lost crystal at the same time?

Aiden wants nothing more than to help Addie overcome her grief and get over Cael. Or is that all he wants? What happens when too many people know the secret and someone slips up?

Teaser Excerpt from A Secret Fate

He lay half on top of her, their legs tangled together on the sofa as their rapid heartbeats slowly returned to normal. He didn’t want to move or let her go, but he’d have to. He needed to get up and leave. How would he ever look Aiden in the eye again? What a mess he’d gotten himself into this time.

She sighed. “That was amazing.” Resting her head on his chest, she leaned her face to his and kissed him, gently, softly, then closed her eyes and rested her head. They stayed that way, silent, for a while.

About Susan
I grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania, spending most of my time daydreaming or playing around in the mud. I grew out of the mud play, well, most of the time, a good soak in the mud is always fun. I still daydream often and sometimes my daydreams interrupt my daydreams. So I write to remember them. If I didn't write, I think my mind would explode from an overload of fantasy and weirdness. To the annoyance of my friends and family, my characters sometimes become a part of my world. During my childhood, I would frequently get in trouble in school for daydreaming. Eventually, my vivid imagination paid off and I had the privilege of writing and co-directing my sixth-grade class play—a dreadful disaster, though not from my writing, of course. I'm pretty sure it was the acting.

I enjoy writing about characters living in small quaint towns and tend to lean toward the unusual and edgy.

My paranormal playing field delves into a different milieu, abandoning vampires and werewolves, but not discounting them. Someday I might like to write a novel about vamps and those furry creatures. But for now I like the bizarre mixed with romance. A strong hero or heroine confronted with extraordinary forces of nature, powers and capabilities gets my blood running hot as does an steamy contemporary romantic suspense.

Interview

Thank you so much for having me on your blog today and helping with the release of A Secret Fate.
1.      Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Sure. I’m happily married to a wonderful man and together we have five kids. They are all grown and we’ve been blessed with seven grand kids and it’s always fun when they come to visit.
2.      Where do you usually get your ideas for your books?
I suppose they come from my mind spinning out of control while watching TV, or a movie, or reading. Most of the time, they come from experiences and places I’ve visited.
3.      How did you come up with the title?
Believe it or not the original title of The Whisper Cape Series, was A Secret Fate. A friend who’d read it right after I wrote it in 2007 helped me with the title one afternoon while we were brainstorming. It got changed to Whisper Cape right before it was published. Don’t ask me why, I have no idea. But I loved the original title, so I incorporated it into all three books and made it the title of the last book.
4.      Do you feel like there is a little bit of you in your characters?
Oh absolutely, especially both Addison and Maia, and of course, Cael and Gerry are both based on my idea of the perfect man, so I guess they span from a part of my inner secret desires.
5.      What do you like to do when you’re not writing?
Read mostly. I try to jog/walk every day but things happen and I don’t always get to. I also design and make book covers and do book formatting as well. I've been known to do a little quilting usually around the holidays. I've been working on the same Christmas quilt now for about seven years.
6.      Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?
Writing a book has always been one of my secret ambitions—one I thought I’d never get to do or have time, but after I married my husband, I stopped working outside the home and became bored, so I started writing.
7.      If you had to go back and do it again, would there aspects in any of your work that you would wish to change?
Actually, yes. I would make all the characters younger because I think the storyline and my writing style come across as though they were younger. When I wrote Whisper Cape, I modeled Addison after my daughter who was twenty-six at the time.
8.      Are there occupational hazards to being a novelist?
Yes. Back pain, gaining weight from sitting all day, losing touch with reality… the list goes on and on. But I wouldn’t trade them for all the tea in China, as the cliché goes.
9.      Do you have anything you want to say specifically to your readers?
I love this question because it always gives me a chance to thank my readers. Without them and their wonderful support, I wouldn’t have the courage to write and my books and characters would be stuck in my brain or the hard drive in my computer never to be seen.  So from the bottom of my heart, I love you, fans, and thank you. And thank you again, for this wonderful interview and for having me on your blog during the tour for my new release of, A Secret Fate.
