Mason Remington fell in love with his little brother's best friend, Gina, when she was still in high school. It seemed they'd found their forever early in life. But somehow it all went wrong. Now--ten years later--Gina's back in town. This time he doesn't intend to let her leave.
Mason spent the years he lost with Gina building a business, breeding and training horses, and helping keep his family's ranch going. Gina threw herself into a life in New York City where she has a career as a photographer…and a fiancĂ©.
Gina needs to sell the ranch where she grew up and move her dad to New York. When she returns to Paradise Valley to finally close that chapter of her life, the last person she wants to see is the man who broke her heart all those years ago.
Mason isn't going to let the only woman he's ever loved walk out of his life forever without explaining what went wrong. He never understood why she left. Now he has one last shot to make her stay.

Favorite Quotes:
“He’d been her
first. “He’d told her he intended to be
her last. That she was his and always
would be.”
“He hadn’t
even asked her to marry him. It had come
up when he was helping her go through her books… He’d told her that they would
both gain a significant tax break if they filed as married. And that, for Liam at least, had been all it
had taken to determine that they should – and would – get married.”
“Harsh as it
was, this environment shaped them and defined them. And just like the junipers, transplanting them
elsewhere would slowly kill them. At
least that is how he felt.”
“You don’t
love him, you love who you want him to be.”
“She kissed
him as though she’d never forgotten how, as though the years in between them
had never existed.”
“It felt right
and familiar, yet new and exciting all at the same time.”
My Review:
I adore SJ
McCoy’s writing style and plot lines, having read and delighted in most of her
Summer Lake series. Her stories are
comfortable, easy to follow, insightful, deliciously steamy, and good for my
heart. Her men are definitely strong,
successful, multi-talented, and take-charge alphas, yet they are also
thoughtful, tender, caring, and love their women deeply. Mason is my new BBF, and I can’t imagine any
woman walking away from him, but Gina was being obstinate. I thoroughly enjoyed the contrast between her
city boyfriend – Liam - and Mason. Ms.
McCoy’s books often involve second and third chances at love, with protagonists
who are trying to pull together and enjoy each other - rather than engaging in
constant battle and high angst. I was definitely
in need of something lighter and softer, and Mason was a perfect fit, just like a large glass of my favorite
wine. And while I look forward to more
of her Montana adventures, I think it is high time for a return trip to Summer
Lake to check on some of Ms. McCoy’s other friends, it has been far too long,
and I have missed this feeling of comfort and ease while reading.

About The Author
Hi, I'm SJ, a coffee addict, lover of chocolate and drinker of good red wines. I'm a lost soul and a hopeless romantic. Reading and writing are necessary parts of who I am. Though perhaps not as necessary as coffee! I can drink coffee without writing, but I can't write without coffee.
I grew up loving romance novels, my first boyfriends were book boyfriends, but life intervened, as it tends to do, and I wandered down the paths of non fiction for many years. My life changed completely a couple of years ago and I returned to Romance to find my escape.
I write 'Sweet N Steamy' stories because to me there is enough angst and darkness in real life. My favorite romances are happy escapes with a focus on fun, friendships and happily-ever-afters, just like the ones I write.
These days I live in beautiful Montana, the last best place. If I'm not reading or writing you'll find me just down the road in the park - Yellowstone. I have deer, eagles and the occasional bear for company, and I like it that way.
Keep Up With SJ:
