button-synopsis

Instalove! Fire Chief Aiden James often fell in lust, but not in love. That was -- until the beautiful new librarian Carolina Mayfair showed up in his small town. The sparks flew and set them both aflame for one magical night, and the resulting inferno changed both of their lives forever.

Caro Mayfair was passionate, committed, and not looking for love at all. She just wanted to use her newly-minted college degree at the small library in the mountain town of Paradise. Little did she know that she was about to meet the man that would set her world on fire!

Erotica, romantica, and all sorts of other stuff!

28K-word standalone novella; can be read as standalone or part of the Passion in Paradise series.

Aiden had known the second he laid his eyes on that spectacular hourglass figure of hers that he wanted her. Of course he had. A man would have to be dead not to want to spend time between those gorgeous thighs, worshiping at those fantastic breasts while he fucked into what he’d bet was the tightest pussy in creation. Yes, his cock had screamed ‘MINE!’ the moment his gaze settled on her fine little body. But the second she’d turned and he’d seen her exquisite face for the first time… yeah, he’d been done.

He’d known that woman would hold him – heart, mind, body, and soul.

There’d been no question at all. He was claiming sweet Carolina for his own.

Favorite Quotes:

He’s already sworn off ever sitting on a hiring panel with Aunt Orla again.  Did you know that she asked the male candidates to strip down to their skivvies?  She says she wanted to make sure they were bringing the ‘right stuff’ to her beloved town!

Aunt Orla is beyond excited to have found some fresh blood to breathe life into our dusty old library.  I think she’s got a list of books a mile long that she’d like you to look into ordering.  Of course, most of them are X-rated, but at least she’s reading.

Baby, you’ve got curves that would make an artist weep and any priest re-think his life plan.

You’re still a good girl, Caro.  You just got a little carried away with the hunky fireman stud and his super-sized hose.

My Review:

Claimed was a quick and steamy tale with an immediate attraction and fast paced storyline packed with playful and bawdy banter and humorous exchanges and observations.  Carolina had moved across the country for a fresh start and a new job.  She’d been in town less than an hour and an attractive, and smooth talking man she had just met coming into town was calling dibs on her to other men.   Aiden made his moves at the speed of light, an obvious player and initially seemed a bit too glib and cocky to be trustworthy, but their chemistry was undeniably electrifying and high voltage at that, as were the sensual scenes – my kindle sizzled!  I always enjoy my trips to Paradise, Tennessee and cherish any chance to catch up with or hear about my favorite resident - Aunty Orla.

That was, until Matt Cassano enters her orbit and she finds herself on a secret, covert mission to save the great man from himself.

But what happens when these two determined personalities clash and the change is more than either one of them bargained for? And when Matt’s health becomes an issue, can the fledgling relationship survive?

STANDALONE. HEA. Romantica erotica.

A mere ten minutes later, Bren found herself firmly wrapped in those arms of his, straddling his waist as he made himself quite at home on her leather sofa. Dropping another quick kiss to his waiting lips, she felt his hands slide under her blouse, his fingers finding the shallow indentation of her lower spine and stroking her sensitive skin gently.

Moaning as Matteo’s arms tightened around her waist and pulled her closer, Bren’s eyelids fluttered as she arched against his warm touch.  Biting her lip, she felt Matt’s devious lips smiling devilishly against her neck as his magic fingers skated up her toned sides, stopping only when he reached the satiny fabric barrier of her bra. “Oh, God,” she gasped as he leaned forward, dropping a slow, wet kiss to the center of her neck, her pulse pounding against his tongue. Tracing a slow, agonizing pattern up her neck and ending at her ear, Bren shivered as he slowly drew her earlobe between his lips.

Matteo grinned as he felt a shudder claim her aroused body, and he couldn't resist pushing her just a little bit farther. "So tell me, Brenna,” he whispered sensually against her flesh, his warm breath fanning her neck and pulling another quiver from her small body.  “Are you still thinking about keeping me out of your bed tonight, love?"

Sinking her teeth into her lower lip as she shifted in the cradle of his lap, Bren’s hand fisted in Matteo’s shirt, her nails digging into the soft material as her other hand desperately tried to unfasten the infuriating buttons she just knew had to be there somewhere.  “Now, Matt,” she said breathlessly, “I think we’ve proven that this couch is more than sufficient for our needs, don’t you?”

“Which needs would we be talking about, babe?" Matteo asked on a growl as he dropped his hand back to her waist.  Trailing one blunt fingertip up her side until he cupped the warm weight of her satin-covered breast in his hand, he rubbed his lips against the thrumming pulse in her neck as he murmured, "Maybe this need right here?"

Now, Catherine Nanetta, you are exaggerating and you know it.  Jealousy only brings out your wrinkles, dear, and lying is a mortal sin.  You don't want me to have to ask the priest to...

Only a mother's voice could hit that exact perfect tone, an incredulous mixture of guilt and shame, with just a touch of irritation thrown in for good measure.

I don't think I've ever heard of someone dying from eating their vegetables.  But I'm sure if it's going to happen, you'll do it with panache.

Now lie your butt back in that bed and rest or so help me god, I'm going to get Nurse Helga, Queen of Pain in here to give you an enema!

My Review:

Matteo Cassano has a demanding job with the FBI; an elderly yet vibrant and meddlesome mother; three sassy and mouthy younger sisters that he has labeled as harpies and the Sisters of Satan; a smoking hot new love affair budding with his FBI co-worker that has been leading a double life and nefariously woven her way into every aspect of his life; and the least of his problems is a newly discovered heart condition.  What is a coffee/red meat/sweets addict to do but ignore his Dr. and continue on in denial?  The storyline is heaving with humor, argumentative family drama, and erotic sensual scenes.  Oh my.

Sarah O'Rourke is the alter ego of two best friends who bonded over their passion for romantic fiction and erotica. Born and raised in the southern United States, one lives near Louisville, Kentucky, while the other resides in Atlanta, Georgia.  Formerly an accountant and a chemist, they are now overworked, stay-at-home moms who adore their children, their husbands...and writing about love in every way possible.

Inspired by their dog-eared copies of Gone with the Wind and their almost warped DVDs of Steel Magnolias, they love to write wildly intense romantic/erotica stories that have multiple characters, but they focus on one couple that will ALWAYS have a happy ending…eventually!

Wed by Wednesday

What happens when a naive city girl answers a personal ad to marry a bachelor farmer from the hills of Tennessee? Destiny! Read how Orla and Jethro's story started back in the 1960s...and find out exactly how deliciously naughty these two can be!   This insta-love 50,000-word novel is filled with humor, romance, and just enough erotica to keep you coming back for more. Wed by Wednesday is the prequel to Sarah O’Rourke’s Paradise series, and like all of her books, it can be read as a standalone.

“Listen, chaste kisses are fine for what they are. Quick exchanges of affection. An innocent way to tell somebody they mean something. When you wanna show a woman that she’s what’s lighting the fire in your gut, though… quick and innocent pecks just don’t do the trick. Nah, a man goes dark and dirty for that kind of lesson. He wants his woman wet and hot. And he wants her that way everywhere. Her mouth. Her core. Everywhere.”

“Thirty- one?” Orla echoed faintly. “He’s thirty-one?” The longer Nellie talked, the less this man sounded like the one she’d been corresponding with for weeks.   Why, her Jethro was sweet and soft-spoken, and certainly not as old as thirty-one. No. Her Jethro was nothing like the animal the older woman was describing.

“Yes, ma’am.   He surely is. I changed that rascal’s diapers myself,” Nellie announced with a decisive nod, her eyes widening as she apparently noticed the surprise on young Orla’s face. “What?” You mean to say that you didn’t know how old your beau was?”

“Well, not his exact age. I mean, his letters indicated he was older than me. I just assumed there were only a few years between us,” Orla confided in a strangled whisper. Hells bells! Her future husband had over a whole decade’s experience on her. What in the world about her would attract a worldly, well-off man like him? “Why hasn’t he wed before now then?” she asked without realizing she’d spoken out loud.

Nellie was quick with an answer to her question, however. “Oh, many a girl around these parts have tried to lasso Jethro’s heart, but that surly demeanor of his runs all decent women right off his scent once they get a whiff of how crabby he is for two-thirds the day.”

“What’s he doin’ for the other third?” Orla asked shakily.

“Oh, he’s sleepin’. Collectin’ his strength so he can keep his title as the world’s most boorish bachelor and all such manner of things. Truly, ‘bout the only time I’ve heard him stay civil for more than fifteen minutes is the hour long sermon we all sit through once a week at the church. And maybe once or twice a year when he’s paying his respects at his dear departed momma and daddy’s grave or something such. Otherwise, he’s blunt as a hammer and speaks with a tongue sharper than any knife you’ll ever come across.”

Favorite Quotes:

He was the most breathtaking man she'd ever seen and even her lady bits wanted to appreciate the view.

And for the record, men like me like our womenfolk meek, mild and mostly mute.

Life is comprised of moments.   Some are big.  Some small.  But all of them are unique to the person experiencing them.

Well, the least you could do is introduce her to me!  I can hardly just grope this poor animal's private parts if we don't even know each other.

My Review:

Orla was always a favorite for me in previous Paradise books, and I reveled in reading her story.  But her tale seems to have teased me as I am feeling a strong yen to return to the series and read each one over again.  Sarah O'Rourke never fails to entertain with her particular and unique style of southern humor, clever sass, and delicious steam.  Wed by Wednesday was a fun, quick, sweet, and satisfying read.  I could never tire or ever get enough of this highly amusing and entertaining series.

Man of Honor – Excerpt
“Not necessarily, but I wouldn’t mind,” Zeke replied truthfully.  “Honor, darlin, you’re a gorgeous woman.”
“Not without my clothes,” she mumbled, bending her head to stare at her clenched fists.  “Ugly,” she muttered.  “I’m ugly.”
Tensing, Zeke’s jaw clenched.  “I don’t know why the hell you’re saying that, but there’s not a single ugly thing about you.  Not when you’re naked.  Not when you’re tryin’ to bring yourself to release.  Not ever, Honor Grace.  You do not ever have to be ashamed of your body.”
Honor slowly lifted her mortified gaze to him.  “You’ve never seen me without my clothes, Zeke.  There are scars.  So many scars.  They’re raised and bumpy.  Some are red and raw.  It’s disgusting, Ezekiel.”
“Bullshit.  Every single one of those marks remind me of one thing, Honor.  One,” he growled, holding up a finger between them.  “You lived.  You survived.  When all the odds were stacked against you, you defied modern medicine and every one of those damned doctors predictions, and you lived.  And all those scars will ever do is remind me of how lucky I am to still have you.  Don’t you ever tell me you’re ugly because you’re the most beautiful thing in my world.  You wanna be scared to share your body with me because of what happened to you?  I get that.  I can accept that.  But worrying about some marks on your flesh?  I love you, baby, but that’s insane.”
Honor stared at him a long time, gauging his sincerity.  “It doesn’t feel silly,” she finally grumbled.
“You need to reassess your feelings then because I assure you, it’s one of the silliest concerns you ever had.  Christ, baby, how long have you been agonizing of a worry as pointless as your scars?” he asked, shoving a frustrated hand through his dark hair.  “I could have put these fears to rest ages ago, Honor, if I’d known about it.”
“It’s hard to talk about,” she revealed in a low voice as her head twisted to look at him.
“Yeah?  Is feeling like shit alone better than talking it over together with me?” he returned calmly, reaching up to tenderly tuck her hair behind one ear.  “Baby, you gotta start getting this.  When you hurt, I hurt.  When you suffer, I suffer right along with you.  Don’t make either one of us feel that way needlessly, Kitten.  Just talk to me.  I know you have scars.  You’ve got them on your body, and you’ve got them on your soul.  I’ve sat by your hospital bed too many times to count and watched you while you did your damnedest to heal them both.  Those wounds are not new information to me and they don’t change shit.  I still love you, and I don’t allow those scars to do anything other than remind me to treasure every day I have with you.  Okay?”
Honor’s eyes were soft as they locked with Zeke’s.  “You really do love me a lot, don’t you?” she asked in a small voice.
“So much that I ache with it, Honor.”

Favorite Quotes:

Fear is a mysterious entity, complicated and dynamic in its components.

Educate your brother, Zeke, before he accidentally goes and gets himself whacked by Patience and I have to represent my wife in a murder trial.  You've met my babies.  There's no way I survive raising my kids on my own.

You'd think she'd be less huffy what with her gettin' some lawman lovin'.  Tell me, child.  What's the sheriff packin' in his pants?  Are we talkin' a pocket pistol or a hand cannon?

Those asshats ruint my pretty outfit... You boys kill 'em good, 'kay?

Crazy old fool.  Good thing he's carryin' a lead pipe in his pants or I woulda got shed of him years ago...

Just remember, sugar, marriage can be summed up with three rules.  First, when there's a choice to be made, always choose love.  Second, remember that forgiveness may be divine, but angry sex is also awesome.  And third, and this may be the most important rule... when on your knees, aim to please.

Her life was finally good.  Like really, really good.  She loved and was loved with a bone deep intensity that was obvious to anyone that looked at them.

My Review:

Man of Honor was a genre-hopping hybrid of adult contemporary and erotic romance, suspense, mystery, women's fiction, and humor.  It was a long and extremely angsty ride.  Uptight Honor and her feisty sisters Harmony, Faith, and Patience have proven themselves to be more than a bit frustrating to deal with as they all appear to suffer from the same curse of terminal obstinance with  side orders of sass and petulance.  I rather pity the devilishly handsome and buff alpha-males that remain fiercely spellbound by these spirited women.  However, I knew going in that Honor's history was going to be gruesome as well as heart wrenching.  Thankfully, there were occasional periods of respite from the tension provided by the volcanically hot sensual scenes and the comic relief provided by Aunt Orla's humorous observations.  Every family should have an Aunt Orla.
