The award-winning author who writes with "humor and heart" (Jill Shalvis, New York Times bestselling author) invites you to visit the charming small town of Angel Falls.

Being naughty was nice, but now these friends-turned-lovers are in for an unforgettable Christmas...

Just when Kaitlyn Barnes vows to get over her longtime crush on Rafe Langdon, they share a sizzling evening that delivers an epic holiday surprise: Kaitlyn is pregnant. And if that weren't life-changing enough, everyone assumes they're engaged -- a charade they must keep alive through the holiday season. But Kaitlyn knows Rafe better than anyone, and Rafe settling down is about as likely as Santa skipping Angel Falls this year...

Rafe would rather Kaitlyn believe a lie -- that their night together was a fling -- than face his own dangerous truth: he's falling for her, hard. After a devastating loss, Rafe swore he'd never risk his heart again. Yet the longer they pretend to be engaged the more Rafe starts to want the real thing. But now he has to convince Kaitlyn he wants to be by her side -- and their baby's -- for all the Christmases to come.

Favorite Quotes:

No wonder you two are… um, expecting. That is some positively ferocious chemistry! Lordie, pass me a fan!

Such a hardworking, practical woman, who gets up at four-thirty every morning to open her grandpa’s cafĂ©. Yet she wears the most filmy, lacy underwear with a tiny satin bow. That is the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen.

My Review:

Start with a surprise pregnancy and add in a troubled and sticky-fingered relative, a sexy yet traumatized and apprehensive baby-daddy, a crafty grandmother, a playful rescued puppy, and a missing recipe needed for a competition and coffee shop owner Kaitlyn’s cup is overflowing, and she can’t even drink the coffee. I have enjoyed every installment of the Angel Falls series, and adore the Langdon’s tight-knit and loving family. The characters are responsible, thoughtful, and likable human beings who are realistically flawed and a bit frayed around the edges yet hard-working, kind, and lovable. Kaitlyn and Rafe’s storylines were well-balanced overall as they swung between angsty inner turmoil and a tender sweet and steamy romance. Ms. Liasson’s writing style is easy to fall into and follow, yet is craftily paced with expert storytelling and emotive word choices that hit and hold the perfect emotional tones between well-placed bursts of levity and a gentle and caring romance that squeezes all the feels.

"Emotional, heartwarming romance you can't put down."-- Lori Wilde, New York Times bestselling author on Then There Was You

A heartwarming story about love, family, and taking risks that matter

Gabby Langdon has always tried to make people happy. She even went to law school to please her father, and now she's a highly successful-albeit bored-attorney. But Gabby secretly dreams of being a writer, so for once she does something for herself-she signs up for a writing class taught by best-selling novelist Caden Marshall. There's only one problem: her brooding, sexy professor is a distraction she can't afford if she's finally going to get the life she truly wants.

Recently divorced and suffering from the world's worst case of writer's block, Caden is in Angel Falls to get his life back on track. He's focused on teaching and providing a stable and loving home for his young daughter, Ava. The last thing he needs is to jeopardize his new job, which means keeping plenty of distance between himself and his talented new student-no matter how tempted he is by Gabby's beauty, kind heart, or the sparks that fly whenever they're together.

Favorite Quotes:

"I haven’t been out in the sun much this summer, Nonna. But now that I’m partner, I’ll get some color.” She was lying through her teeth. She might never see the light of day again.

“When you’re eighty-nine years old,” Nonna said, “you can have all the donuts you want.” “Aren’t you, like, only eighty, Nonna?” Rafe asked. “I don’t know, but I’m old enough to have another donut if I want one.” … Nonna licked some cream off her thumb. “Don’t ever let anyone tell you not to eat donuts,”

As he leaned toward her, she couldn’t help noticing that he smelled delicious, like some spicy man soap that made her want to sneak into his bathroom and inhale the bar.

Cade gave his dad a look. The water under their combined bridges could drown someone.

My Review:

I am grooving on this Angel Falls series, The Way You Love Me was another delightfully satisfying and disarming read that would be easy to follow regardless of whether the first book was read or not, although I can highly recommend and enjoyed reading Then There Was You as well.  I am always struck by the agile and insightful quality of Ms. Liasson’s writing.  Her storytelling is so smooth, lushly described, and easy to follow that it rolls seamlessly with keen visuals through my gray matter.  She deftly tucks in clever levity, thoughtful details, and other extra special touches that elevate the caliber from good to exceptional while providing additional texture and vibrancy to her characters as well as a highly pleasurable reading experience.  And I adored these enticing characters as much as I did their engaging storylines.  I particularly enjoyed the creativity of the full grovel experience and the amusing unpredictability of the elderly Nonna.

Book Review, Giveaway: THE BABY PROJECT by Miranda Liasson

THE BABY PROJECT

by Miranda Liasson

 Goodreads

When a workaholic OB doctor asks her commitmentphobic, globetrotting ex-fling to donate a sperm sample, a simple request turns into far more than either of them ever bargained for…Here comes THE BABY PROJECT by Miranda Liasson…

About THE BABY PROJECT

Liz Kingston spends her life delivering babies and longs for one of her own. All she needs is someone with fabulous genetic material. Who better to ask than her sexy ex-fling, who has no interest in ever settling down or being a father.
International correspondent Grant Wilbanks loves danger and traveling the world. But nothing in all this Brit’s experience could have prepared him for the way a torrid affair with Liz makes him feel. When she asks for his assistance, he figures he can help her out with a simple donation. No strings, no emotions, just…test-tube science.
But this simple favor gives them both more than they ever bargained for. Grant agrees to her terms, but stepping away gets harder and harder because the more time they spend together, the more he finds himself falling…and losing the battle to safeguard his heart.

Favorite Quotes:

I’m thirty-two years old, divorced, and I have endometriosis. And I haven’t had a date since my grandmother tried to fix me up with that guy whose first name was the same as my mom’s maiden name. She kept trying to say we weren’t related, but I knew better.

… her husband, the man she’d dated since high school, cheated on her with Daphne Marie Henderson, who owned the pet grooming business in town. At the time, they hadn’t even been married a year. She thought Parker was dropping off his mother’s dog for a shampoo and cut, but he was clearly getting some other services performed as well.

He was as domesticated as a Bengali tiger.

“You know you’re always beautiful to me,” Nick said, rubbing Maddie’s belly and giving her a kiss. “I just never thought I’d see the day when my wife would eat more than a pro football player.” … “I love you,” Maddie said, “but when you talk like that you do know you’re asking for death, right?”

My Review:

The Baby Project was a quick, entertaining, and satisfying read.  Grant was charming with a posh British accent, although he was also a daredevil, adrenaline junkie, and a front-line journalist who lived out of a suitcase and was driven with the goal of obtaining a Pulitzer.  Liz was a prickly, workaholic OB in a small town practice, living in an empty house with an empty refrigerator and a one-eyed dog, yet yearning for a baby.  Doesn’t sound like much of a match but they had shared volcanically hot chemistry with “Armageddon kisses,” when they had met a year prior and enjoyed a torrid affair that was hot enough to scare Grant stupid, and he had been, really, really stupid.  I enjoyed the humor, banter, steam, and gradual peeling of the onion to see how the relationship softened and revitalized the characters.  I could happily read engaging Miranda Liasson stories like this every single day.

Favorite Quotes:

Most feuds are caused by misunderstandings.  Stopping an argument is like pulling a weed.  You have to get in before it seeds and gets beyond the point of now return.

A man who came from a family like this was bound to be riddled with emotional troubles.  There was enough drama here for a Netflix series.

He flashed her a grin that would make angels break into the Hallelujah Chorus.

Trust me, you’re the kind of woman where there are always strings.  Plenty of them, hanging everywhere.

He held up a ring, something gorgeous and sparkly and just right.

My Review:

I loved this bright and shiny book so much I had marked reams of favorite quotes.  I adored these endearing, quirky, and tenderhearted characters, although Maggie’s OCD often took her more than a bit beyond quirky and well into the neurotic.  But I am a smitten kitten with the Spikonos brothers – they are divine.  Ms. Liasson’s narrative is refreshingly crisp, lively, comical, heart-squeezing, insightful, and tons of fun.  Her work sparkles with humor and sizzles with undercurrents of sensual attraction and steamy bits.   I was rapturously engaged and delightfully entertained throughout.
