Revenge, passion and heart stopping action all come together in Jodi Linton’s scorchingly hot, REBEL LOVE, the first book in the Dirty Sinners Motorcycle Club series.  Fans of Sarah Castille’s Sinner’s Tribe Motorcycle Club series and Katie Ashley’s Vicious Cycle will love this brand new series.

Favorite Quotes:

“It happened to be too much too soon because the biker who had worked her mouth like he was determined to find out how many licks it took to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop was moving toward her again.”

“I wasted so much time running from this… You’re all I need. Always, Em.  Never doubt my need for you.”

“He wanted to parade her around and shout that she was the one, so every other guy knew they should move along.  The hot lady in leather was taken.  She was his.”

My Review:

Revenge, guilt, corruption, murder, undercover operatives, and a hot sexy biker babe who happens to be the President of the MC – which was definitely a new wrinkle for me.  Rebel Love had an interesting premise, an active story line, sexy characters with combustible chemistry, lots of intrigue, and angst dripping off every page.  Unfortunately, I am not a big fan of angst, so I found it a bit slow going, but I do love kick-ass chicks, steamy love scenes, and a feisty heroine, and those were delivered in spades.

She’s dead-set on giving one bullheaded cowboy the boot.

Welcome to Pistol Rock, Texas where everyone knows secrets last about as long as the sporadic west Texas rain showers.

Laney Briggs has long been considered reckless, but she’s turned herself around—she’s respectably engaged and she’s become a Pistol Rock deputy sheriff. Everything’s fine until a dead body turns up and her ex, Texas Ranger Gunner Wilson, decides to stick his boots into the town’s first murder case.

Laney will be damned if she lets Gunner trample all over her turf and her chance at a quiet, contented life. His seemingly endless ability to undermine her resolve and her libido was only outdone by her constant urge to butt heads with him. But when the bodies start to pile up, Laney has to ask the lethal bad boy for a hand—and a truce in exchange for his help.

Having an ex-boyfriend as an ally might not be the best idea, but Laney has always been pretty reckless…

Favorite Quotes:

“Mable Dilby was the little old church lady who owned the cafĂ©.  She had the mouth of a sailor and made pie crust good enough to make the bishop kick in a stained-glass window.”

“I figure everyone has a family member they’d like to disown, and my cousin Wyatt Bennett was mine.  The branches didn’t flourish on his side of the family tree.”

“Wyatt had gotten the brilliant idea of plastering his smiling image, rifle in hand, on bulletin board-size flags.  He said it was a good welcoming, made the people feel at home.  Something I doubted, since he was missing two front teeth and had a mullet.”

“…she screamed and gave the steering wheel a beating that would’ve knocked the tattoo off Mike Tyson’s face.” “I’d been to Shotgun Weddings Inc. once before, and the memory of peel-and-stick eyelashes and glitzy dresses still haunted my dreams.”

“My mother’s green eyes narrowed.  It was frightening the damage that look could still do even now that I was a twenty-six-year-old sheriff’s deputy
who carried a gun.”

She takes her cowboys tall, tattooed, and tempting as hell...

Texas Ranger Gunner Wilson is sittin’ in a bar, all six-foot-five-inches of long, hard cowboy. Waitin’. Watchin’. Bidin’ his time for Laney Briggs and her hot little behind to saddle up and make his night. His girl. Hell, after all these years, he knows exactly how to drive her crazy with need...for him.

And Laney is ready to play. Tonight is their new beginning, and she has on her red cowboy boots—the ones that make Gunner wild. She knows that she’s only a few tequilas away from being pressed up against his firm, demanding bod. At his wicked mercy. But tonight, Gunner has something he wants. Needs. Even if it means that Laney will be the one in complete control...

Favorite Quotes:

“Honestly, this girl of mine held the power to cause me to act like a boy going through puberty.”

“Actually, tequila and I had a bone to pick.  And Laney knew it.  The last time I’d sucked down the worm I’d managed to pull a Magic Mike for her in the pasture next to her property line.”

Some cowboys are worth getting dirty for.

In her latest adventure, sassy Deputy Laney Briggs discovers the local high school football coach passed out under the stadium bleachers wearing nothing but a smile...and his wife's lingerie.

Things really start to get wild when she runs into the smoking hot Federal Marshal, Colt Larsen, snooping around the Granger's house. Quicker than a cold snap comes and goes in Texas, Laney finds herself up to her eyeballs in a case involving a ruthless motorcycle gang, a Mexican drug cartel, a kidnapping, and a shoot-out to rival the O.K. Corral.

In over their heads, Laney calls in the big guns-her very own Texas Ranger, Gunner Wilson, who's ready to fulfill every last one of her desires. But as things heat up between them, the stakes get higher than ever, and Gunner's help may not be enough for Laney to get out alive..

“I grew up in a house where the kitchen was run by a chain smoker whose taste buds were so shot that she could eat a raw jalapeno like it was a Mentos.”

“Not only had she almost gotten me killed, but she’d soured our high school football coach’s name – that alone was sacrilegious.”

The only rules she follows are her own…
Wherever Deputy Laney Briggs goes, trouble always follows—except when Laney is the trouble. Right now, she’s on the hunt for her not-so-bright cousin, who is wanted for gun smuggling. But there’s a sexy, hot-assed Texas Ranger on the same case, and Laney would bet her britches (and everything else she’s wearing) that Gunner Wilson knows something she doesn’t. It just requires a bit of sexy espionage…

Gunner knows all too well just how damned distracting Laney and her little red cowboy boots can be. The pure, unadulterated want between them has never been stronger—and Gunner can’t resist making her crazy. But even as she gives in to every carnal craving for Gunner, Laney is determined to get her answers, one mind-meltingly hot night at a time.

Favorite Quotes:

“Here, staring me straight in the face, was proof that evolution could go in reverse.  If only Uncle Tate had been shooting blanks, because the face on the Locked and Loaded welcoming banner flapping around in the wind was a beer or two short of a six-pack.”

“Well, that just dilled my pickle.  I slung my fist on my hips and was ready to throw down.”

“And by wine and dine, I mean you could pick up a couple microwave burritos, a bag of hot Cheetos, and a forty-ounce malt liquor and have yourself a cheap and romantic dinner for two.”

“Everyone knew my mother was meaner than a Black Friday shopper at Walmart.”

“When I saw my father’s face, he looked happier than a North Korean with electricity,”

“If it had tires or testicles, it’s gonna give you trouble.”

“I watched in horror as my mother’s face peeked around the doorway.  She had a tendency to overdo it with the makeup.  I’d seen morticians who could wield a foundation brush more delicately… She gave me a smile that would’ve made the devil himself take pause.”

Laney Briggs was almost certain that her sexy-assed Texas Ranger, Gunner Wilson, was gonna pop the question. Instead, he went and pulled one helluva fast one—he arrested her best friend, Luke Wagner, and skipped out. Now Pistol Rock's firecracker deputy is ready to go Wild West on Gunner…if she can just keep that raw, sexual chemistry under control.

Gunner was planning to propose, and it all went to hell. Now he's boots-deep into an investigation with ties to the Dirty Southern Mafia and corrupt cops. Yep, Laney is definitely gonna have his hide. Especially when she finds out just how much he's been keeping from her…

But Laney has a weakness for Gunner's delectable cowboy hotness. And for him, she will break every rule in the book—including the ones she's sworn to uphold. See where the sparks began to fly with book 1 of the Deputy Laney Briggs series, Pretty Reckless.

Favorite Quotes:

“My voice spiked so high it could’ve given the neighbor’s rooster a morning wake-up call.”

“I had the same feeling I always get when I have to use a port-a-potty.  No matter how bad I didn’t want to go in that place, my situation didn’t allow me the choice.”

“Then some girl started screaming uncontrollably.  Even though I recognized the voice, I wasn’t ready to acknowledge that it was me losing my shit.”

“Honey, you could chat a politician to death.”

“I was as cantankerous as a bull rider with a case of hemorrhoids.”

Series Review:

I am unabashedly enchanted with Jodi Linton as well as her fiery and feisty Deputy Laney Briggs.  Each installment of this delightful series finds Laney waist deep in the type of trouble only she could attract, which is further compounded by the troublesome addition of her shrew of a mother, idiot cousin, and hunky male friends.   The intriguing plot line begins in Book 1 and steadily gets bigger and better with each subsequent volume.  I was totally engaged and spellbound by the witty writing, intriguing story-line, and unforgettable quirky characters.    I adore her entertaining and smart-mouthed characters as even the ancillary players are given a humorous description, eccentric personality, and unusual skill.  Among my favorites are the stained and constantly eating deputy Elroy, the yellow thong wearing male prostitute Jacey Riggings, and the county coroner who also runs Hefty Bags, the family crime-scene clean-up business - just to name a few.

Ms. Linton has a flair for quirky humor and clever dialog that I can’t seem to get enough of.  Her writing can deftly depict a painful event while maintaining a humorous tone with that crafty sarcastic edge.  I truly enjoyed reading the interactions or snippets with or about her unusual family and particularly her mother, the colorful descriptions had me howling.  What also has me howling are the atomically hot and passionate love scenes, my kindle was sizzling.  Deputy Laney has not one but three scrumptious cowboys in love with her, and I am chartreuse with envy.  Her tiny little town has somehow mushroomed into a crime capital right under her nose, with human trafficking, a swinger’s sex club, murders, fraud, organized crime, police corruption, drug dealing, gun running, biker gangs, drive by shootings, and abductions.  Oh my, I don’t remember west Texas being such an exciting bee hive, but I would gladly plan a trip if there was any hope of finding me a sexy cowboy like Luke, Gunner, or Colt; but my luck would more than likely land me in the lap of her bucked-toothed, mullet wearing, idiot cousin Wyatt.  Told from my favorite dual POV, Pretty Lawless and the novella Talk Dirty To Me Cowboy are my personal favorites of the series.

Having read the final book of the series, I am feeling more than a bit bereft. I would think it would be an easy fix for Ms. Linton to continue the series into perpetuity while finding love for Colt and Luke.  I am currently experiencing symptoms of serious withdrawal from my Dr. Pepper swilling friend, as I was so deeply transported by Ms. Linton's entertaining words that I had started to feel like Laney's sidekick.  More please!

My Review:

Luck has rained down on me as I have unwittingly stumbled into a cache of pure treasure.  I have discovered a new favorite author and am currently plowing my way through all her delightful books.  Needless to say, I am happier than a fat kid in a chocolate factory without adult supervision.  Jodi Linton can certainly turn a phrase, she has mad skills.  I smirked and barked my way through her first highly entertaining and snarky tale.  I was completely engaged and unable to put my kindle down from page 1, and am absolutely gleeful in knowing I have all five of these bright shiny gems to binge on, I may not sleep all weekend.  I adore her quirky and smart-mouthed characters as even the ancillary players are given a humorous description, eccentric personality, and unusual skill.  Among my favorites are the stained and constantly eating deputy Elroy, the yellow thong wearing male prostitute Jacey Riggings, and the county coroner who also runs Hefty Bags, the family crime-scene clean-up business, just to name a few.  Ms. Linton’s writing can deftly depict a painful event while maintaining a humorous tone with that crafty sarcastic edge.  I am in awe of her talent and anxious to feast on the remainder of her buffet.

On Wednesday, August 20th from 8:00pm - 11:00pm EST I am hosting a Facebook Party to help celebrate the release of Whatcha Gonna Do With A Cowboy. There will be special guests, lots of fun & prizes, and tons of cowboys!

Some cowboys are worth getting dirty for.

In her latest adventure, sassy Deputy Laney Briggs discovers the local high school football coach passed out under the stadium bleachers wearing nothing but a smile…and his wife’s lingerie.

Things really start to get wild when she runs into the smoking hot Federal Marshal, Colt Larsen, snooping around the Granger’s house. Quicker than a cold snap comes and goes in Texas, Laney finds herself up to her eyeballs in a case involving a ruthless motorcycle gang, a Mexican drug cartel, a kidnapping, and a shoot-out to rival the O.K. In over their heads, Laney calls in the big guns—her very own Texas Ranger, Gunner Wilson, who’s ready to fulfill every last one of her desires. But as things heat up between them, the stakes get higher than ever, and Gunner’s help may not be enough for Laney to get out alive…

I plopped into my chair, tossed my hat on top of the desk, then did the same with my legs. Leaning back, I shifted my weight to get comfortable and opened my mouth  to begin telling him everything that had gone down since we’d parted ways at the stadium. “The gentleman I was speaking with is—”

“What the pretty lady was about to say,” a voice said, cutting me off in mid-sentence, “was that I’m the federal marshal she met at the Grangers’ place.”

I peeked past Elroy and wanted to die on the spot.

There, hunkered down in the back corner of the station, a hip resting against the wall, and a muscular arm tossed over the Igloo water cooler, was Colt Larsen. “How the hell…?”

He moved away from the wall and stood in the middle of the room, straight and tall. “More precisely, I’m Federal Marshal Colt Larsen from Tarpon Pass.” The smug asshole extended his hand toward Elroy.

“Tarpon Pass,” Elroy said, shaking his hand. “Now where might that be?”

“It’s down on the coast. Not too far south of Rockport,” Colt answered.

“Never heard of the place,” Elroy said.

“It’s a nice town,” Colt replied, then fixing his eyes on me, he added, “We’d love to have you come out and visit. We welcome folks of all kinds in our town.”

Elroy wiped his mouth. “My, my, a federal marshal.” He shot a look my way. “I bet Gunner’s going to lose it when he finds out you’ve tagged yourself another cowboy.”

Colt let out a short cough. “Do you mean Gunner Wilson?”

“Yeah. Who else would I be talking about?”

“I’ll be damned.” He smiled. “You’re the Laney Briggs.”

I shrugged. “And your point is?”

“It just all makes perfect sense why you shot at me tonight, that’s all.” He smiled some more, crossing by the desk and making a turn down the corridor leading to the single jail cell.

I got up and stalked after him. “Colt Larsen,” I shouted at his distancing back, “I’m warning you. If you take another step, I’ll…”

He spun around. “You’ll what? Shoot me?”

“Maybe.” I fisted my hands at my side. “Are you always a pain in the ass?”

He pulled off his hat and scratched his head. “Yes, ma’am. Well, that’s what my ex-wife used to always tell me.”

That silenced me for a minute. Before I could cough up a reply, Colt took it upon himself to help me out.

“I can’t believe it. The infamous Laney Briggs is speechless,” he taunted, winking. “Is it that you don’t see me as the marrying type?”

I narrowed my eyes and called, “Elroy, get the keys to the cell. We’re about to have ourselves a little chat with Mr. Granger.”
