I was curious as to how this series would wrap up and enjoyed the sweet conclusion that Banishing brought to the Silent Cove Trilogy. The premise was interesting although the story evolved ever so slowly much like the lightning pace of a terrapin. I enjoyed the thoughtful details and emotive descriptions, but my favorite thing about this installment was the kind and gentle character of Jack.

Jax Jillian was born in Albuquerque, NM but before she turned a year old, her parents moved east to Harrisburg, PA where she was raised. After graduating high school in 1995, Jax attended La Salle University (1999, B.A., Communication), Temple University (2001, M.Ed, Sport & Recreation Administration), and Central Pennsylvania College (2005, A.A.S, Physical Therapist Assistant).

She settled in Philadelphia, PA with her husband and son before she became a writer. Jax found a passion for motion pictures at a young age when she remembers “getting lost” in films, and that passion ultimately led her down the path to writing. she loves “getting lost” in her writing and particularly loves writing heartfelt love stories with a touch of tragedy which she believes is the key to truly reaching readers.

Jax is the author of Larkin’s Letters and Ryan’s Letters, two contemporary romance novels that have seen early success from reviewers, with both averaging 4.8/5 stars on Amazon and Goodreads. She is currently writing her third novel and aspires to write a screenplay one day.

When not writing, she works full time as a physical therapist assistant and as a mom to her three-year-old son.

My Review:

On the heels of Larkin’s Letters, Ryan’s Letters is yet another deeply moving and well-written masterpiece by Jax Jillian. I don’t know how she does it, but she squeezes my cold heart and stings my eyes with her words, and she achieves this feat repeatedly and without being sappy. The plot is unique, interesting, creative, and relevant. Ryan’s sorrow and pain are palpable and intense, yet somehow the story is hopeful and not maudlin. I enjoyed the book and remained entertained and engaged from beginning to end.

About The Author

I am a 38-year old novelist living in Philadelphia. It wasn’t until I was 34 when I realized that I wanted to write a novel. Better late than never, right? My first book,Larkin’s Letters, was published and released June 25, 2013 by Tate Publishing, and the sequel, Ryan’s Letters, will be released on September 29, 2015.

Review Blog Tour: Larkin's Letters by Jax Jillian

My Review:

Books rarely make me cry and seldom cause me to even tear up. I have read the same books that other reviewers claimed they cried the whole way through, that had not affected me at all... I actually have had the disturbing thought that I may have tipped over into the realm of the dark hearted and completely jaded. This issue is no longer a concern, as I was frequently moved to tears by this poignant and beautifully crafted love story. Although I don’t want to give the impression the book is depressing, it is not. It is extremely touching, expertly crafted, and meticulously edited. I frequently had a large lump in my throat, a tightness in my chest, and also noticed I needed to blink away a strange fluid in my eyes on numerous occasions. Then, it happened… I had to stop - more than a few times - to catch my breath until the sobbing passed. My precious little husband was extremely alarmed. It was an extraordinary experience. Congratulations Ms. Jillian, you have warmed my cold heart. I adored the story and truly loved the ending, it was very clever and unique. Ingenious even. I so hope that is how heaven actually works, as if I would have any chance of gaining entrance…

Jax Jillian introduces her first novel, Larkin’s Letters, which was inspired by her love for modern day love stories. A graduate of La Salle University with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication, she also received an Associate’s Degree for Physical Therapy Assistant from Central Pennsylvania College. She currently works as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Philadelphia, PA, where she lives with her husband and baby son.
