A troubled soul…

Ryland James arrives in Beachwood Bay on the run from his mistakes. He knows he’s the last thing Tegan needs, but somehow, he can’t stay away. There’s something about her fierce beauty that draws him in – and makes him vow to protect her, whatever the cost.
A passionate destiny…

Their bond is undeniable; the stakes, higher than ever. But the past won’t stay gone forever, and soon, Ryland must make the ultimate choice: will he risk everything he treasures in the world, or keep Tegan safe – and sacrifice her love forever?

Favorite Quotes:

“People fail all the time, it’s what we’re made to do.  We all have moments of fear and weakness, we all stumble on the rocks of bitter jealousy.  There’s not a soul in the world who hasn’t been brought low at some point.  What matters is what you do when you hit the bottom.”
“Slow and sweet, he kisses me with a tenderness that sends my head spinning.  Honeyed kisses, he takes his time.  I fall against him, down into his embrace, losing myself in the moment as it unfolds like silk and stardust.”
“Gravity pulls me toward her, an elemental force that’s deeper than anything as I tilt lower and find those perfect lips with my own.”

My Review:

This is the second Melody Grace book I have had the pleasure of reading, and I adored every sentence.  Of the two books I have read, I noticed that she is at her most profound at the beginning of her story.  I love that, it sets the tone and settles me for the rest of the tale.  Her writing is intelligent yet easy to read, insightful, observant, and for lack of a better word - enthralling.  Her characters are flawed and often troubled, but they are also decent and well-intentioned.  I have a hard time finding a stopping place to even temporarily put her book down, even when I need to.  I am practically mesmerized and resent any interruption or intrusion while submerged in her story.  And I should not fail to mention – she brings the steam oh so well.  Swoon - if only there was a Callahan brother for me - I would love to live at Beachwood Bay!  I do believe I am addicted.
